The new features of Agility 5 were shown in detail to the audience by David Hipkin and Peter Smith, while Tim Tunnard gave an overview of the implementation process that really sets SoftSols apart in the market.

Leading maintenance management system specialist SoftSols Group has announced details of an exciting new release with version 5 of its Agility Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

At this year’s Maintec exhibition on 5-7^th March at the NEC in Birmingham, SoftSols Group will be showcasing Agility 5. This release builds on the successful introduction of many features in previous versions of their class leading Agility CMMS. Some of the new features in Agility 5 include:

Dynamic drawing overlays

The Agility 5 release contains a new dynamic map and drawing overlay feature. This allows users to drill down from drawings into associated records including equipment and work order information.

 Enhanced Dashboard

With Agility version 5, we’ve introduced real time visual messaging features which are accessible from a new dashboard; here the user can check several indicators about maintenance activities. A new Tickertape is available on the top of the Dashboard, while the “TopX things to do” feature continually prompts action on the most important issues for each user.

 Training Records

A comprehensive new training records function in Agility 5 provides a means of monitoring and pro-actively managing the renewal of employee training certificates, accreditations and skills. With this feature the user is able to view the current skill level and certification status of an employee from their labour records and be aware of upcoming renewal requirements and is able to organise and book candidates onto training courses which are maintained in Agility.

Super Search

The Agility Super Search function takes you straight to the information you need. The powerful new search facility now looks for your chosen word or search term across multiple record types including assets, inventory items, work orders and purchase orders. Finding the information you need is now as easy as searching on Google.

Following a rigorous competitive tender process, Nottingham Trams Ltd. (NTL) has extended its partnership with SoftSols Group and is replacing its successful IMPACTxp installation with SoftSols Group’s easy-to-use yet powerful computerised maintenance management system (CMMS), Agility.

NTL, a joint venture between Keolis (the largest private sector French transport group) and Wellglade (a major, independent bus operator in the UK) operates and maintains Nottingham’s successful NET Line 1 tram system and is now managing the construction of NET Phase Two which will see two new tram lines being added to the extended tram network.

Under its new operating contract, NTL will operate and maintain Nottingham’s tram system for the duration of the 23-year operating contract, and was obliged to upgrade the existing maintenance management system, including maintenance management, inventory management and Control Room incident logging and reporting. Further requirements included interfacing with other CMMS to receive data inputs and outputs, and the generation of reports for access by third parties.

These obligations, according to Tim Moss, NTL’s Engineering Manager, had a significant bearing on determining the choice of the organisation’s maintenance management system.

 “Although our IMPACTxp maintenance and facilities management solution had served us well over the years, it became apparent that we needed to upgrade to a more powerful and capable solution if we were to fulfil our obligations under the terms of our new operating contract,” explained Tim Moss. “We evaluated various replacement systems, including Keolis’ own asset management system, before concluding that SoftSols Group’s Agility was our solution of choice. In addition to being extremely competitive, Agility is highly flexible and will provide us with the features, facilities and capabilities that we need, both today and for the future.”

Early in 2012, the NTL Board approved the purchase of Agility and, following hardware and asset register upgrades, Agility was installed in the second half of the year, accompanied by comprehensive user training delivered by SoftSols Group’s experience consultants.

Now live, NTL’s new Agility maintenance management system is delivering numerous benefits. Plans for the future include the generation of performance specific reports, a Control Room log, extended third party and software interfaces, and trials of PDAs and Barcode readers.  “Agility is easy-to-use, comprehensive but not complex, and delivers core features in a simple well integrated solution,” concluded Tim Moss. “SoftSols Group clearly understood our requirements and objectives and, throughout the project, has provided excellent levels of support, advice, and training.”

SoftSols and Agility helping to keep BAE Systems in Australia ship shape.

English Lakes Hotels, Resorts & Venues is the latest organisation to sign up for the award winning maintenance management software, Agility.

English Lakes Group offers six individually styled hotels – four luxury hotels in the heart of the Lake District and two in North Lancashire.

The hotel and leisure group will use the software across all their six sites to help make sure everything’s in tip top condition for their guests.

The system will help to automatically schedule maintenance tasks within the hotels, from making sure everything from small repair jobs to grounds maintenance is covered. In the future, staff will also be able to log reactive maintenance jobs across the sites.

Leading maintenance management system specialist SoftSols Group has announced details of an exciting new version of its Agility Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Due for release to new customers in Q1 2012, Agility 4.1 builds on the successful introduction of dashboards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in earlier releases by providing dynamically generated charts and management analysis tools.  Complete dashboards can be refreshed by simply changing drop down selection criteria and date ranges. New chart controls provide graphical analysis of asset costs and work order statistics directly from the asset and equipment screens providing real time analysis of asset performance. Combined with the new asset depreciation features Agility 4.1 enables well informed decisions to be made about repair or replace strategy and PPM optimisation.

New features have been introduced to allow end users to build their own work order checklists which can be used at various stages in the work order cycle. The checklists can be configured to prompt for data in various formats including check box, drop down list, text, date and number format etc. It is now really easy to build simple risk assessment checks that must be completed before work commences or to capture data and readings following completion of the work, for example room audits and meter readings. Customers using the Mobile Expert PDA solution can indicate whether each checklist should be deployed to the hand held device or not.

A significant enhancement to the Agility user interface means that the system can now be accessed from a much wider range of mobile phones, tablets and devices. Agility 4.1 will support browsers such as Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera in addition to Internet Explorer which means that simple to use screens can be configured for iPad, Android Tablets and smart phones such as the Blackberry.

Corporate users seeking high levels of security and access control will benefit from the new enhanced password policy options and Active Directory integration features. Integration options with corporate ERP systems, SCADA, factory automation and Building Management systems are enhanced with a new robust web services integration platform that can easily be configured to interface Agility with a wide range of business systems.
